What this app accesses
Word Count (All Tabs) reads the raw text content of the single Google Doc you currently have open, including the text of all tabs and nested child tabs within that document. This is the only Google user data the app accesses — it does not read any other document, file, or data in your Google account.
From that raw text, the app generates aggregated statistics: a total tab count, word count, character count, and character count excluding spaces. These aggregated figures are the only output the app produces, and they are displayed exclusively in the app’s own sidebar for you to view.
How this data is used
Both the raw text and the aggregated statistics derived from it are used solely to display these four figures to you in the sidebar. No raw text, aggregated data, or derived statistics are stored, logged, transmitted, or used for any purpose beyond this single, in-the-moment display.
Data sharing
This app does not share, transfer, or sell any Google user data — raw or aggregated — to any third party. Nothing leaves the Google Apps Script environment running inside your own Google account.
Data protection
Security procedures are in place to protect the confidentiality of your data. Because this app runs entirely inside Google’s own Apps Script environment, your document data never passes through or rests on any server operated by Structured Works.
Data retention and deletion
This app does not retain any Google user data, raw or aggregated. Text is read and statistics are calculated only for the duration of the active request, then immediately discarded. Because nothing is retained, there is nothing to delete — uninstalling the app or revoking its access ends everything immediately, with no residual data held by Structured Works.
General principles
This app follows the same core practices as every Structured Works tool. Read the general Structured Works Privacy Policy for the principles that apply company-wide, including how paid features (if any) are handled.
